    This is so true…love is not a feeling but an act of the will. We have been married next month 49 years. How much better our early years would have been if we had realized this truth. Great post.

    Love is not a noun, it is a verb –– The first time I had that revelation was through a Steven Covey book and it is absolutely the best piece of relationship wisdom I have heard.

    I believe love is a verb. You so eloquently show what this idea means through your post here. It IS putting others’ needs above yourself. It IS what you do, not what you feel. Feelings don’t last. Love never fails.

    I think more people need to realize that love is not just an emotion, but an action. I tried to tell my first husband, but he just didn’t get it.
